Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. — 2 Cor. 9:15

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlastin Father, The Prince of Peace.

What Is Required

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. Prov. 21:3
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8

Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. I Sam. 15:22

To love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. Mark 12:33

Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually. Hos. 12:6
Mary … sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. One thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. Luke 10:39, 42
It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Phil. 2:13

Be Not Troubled

 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:1-3

As the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that he might deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Heb. 2:14, 15

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. I Cor. 15:55, 57

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. II Cor. 4:16

We know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. We are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. II Cor. 5:1, 6-8

God’s Son

His dear Son. Col. 1:13
Lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matt. 3:17

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth. Isa. 42:1
The only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father. John 1:18

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love. I John 4:9, 10, 16

The glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. John 17:22-24
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. I John 3:1

Stand Fast

Let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. I Thess. 5:8

Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Pet. 1:13

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph. 6:14, 16, 17

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; … we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. Isa. 25:8, 9

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 11:1

Come Holy Spirit

“My Lord and my God.” John 20:28

Come, Holy Spirit, God and Lord!
Let all your graces be outpoured
On each believer’s mind and heart;
Your fervent love to us impart.

Lord, by the brightness of Your light,
You in the faith do men unite
Of every land and every tongue;
This to Your praise, O Lord, be sung.

From every error keep us free;
Let none but Christ our Master be,
That we in living faith abide,
In Him with all our might confide.

Lord, by Your power prepare each heart
And to the weakness strength impart,
That bravely here we may contend,
Through life and death to You
ascend.

The 10 Commandments

Exodus 20:2-17

2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;
3 you shall have no other gods before me.
4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,
6 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.
8 Remember the Sabbath day, and keep it holy.
9 For six days you shall labour and do all your work.
10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns.
11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and consecrated it.
12 Honour your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13 You shall not murder.
14 You shall not commit adultery.
15 You shall not steal.
16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.
17 You shall not covet your neighbour’s house; you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.

Sweet Fellowship

Ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son. I Cor. 1:9
He received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. II Pet. 1:17

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God. I John 3:1
Be ye … followers of God, as dear children. Eph. 5:1

If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ. Rom. 8:17
The brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person. Heb. 1:3
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matt. 5:16

Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame. Heb. 12:2
These things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. John 17:13
As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. II Cor. 1:5

The Voice of The Beloved

Song of Solomon 2:8-13 (KJV):

8The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. 9My
beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he
looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice.
10My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one,
and come away. 11For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and
gone;  12The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of
birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
13The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the
tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come
away.
